Vindicating the stand of former Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, the stone laying foundation ceremony of Pre-Engineered Buildings of Central University of Kashmir in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district has been postponed.

“The foundation stone laying ceremony of the Pre Engineered Buildings (PEBs) of the Central University of Kashmir (CUK) at its permanent campus at Ganderbal, which was scheduled to be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 10 AM, has been postponed,” a statement issued by CUK said Monday afternoon.

BJP Union minister for Human Resources Development, Smriti Zubin Irani along with CM Mufti Mohammad Sayeed were scheduled to lay the foundation stone of the central varsity which is running in temporary accommodations for over three years now across Srinagar.

NC working president and former CM, Omar Abdullah, had shown resentment against the proposed foundation laying ceremony saying “former HRD MoS MM Pillai Raju had already laid the foundation a few years ago”.

“All the functions related to the foundation stone laying ceremony of Pre-Engineered Buildings stands cancelled. The fresh date for the ceremony shall be notified separately,” the CUK statement added.
