On Eid Eve, ‘Shaheen Sports Syndicate’ Extends Helping Hand to Leper Patients

Shaheen Sports Event bin Ramzan

Shaheen Sports Syndicate Khawaja Bazar Nowhatta Srinagar Monday held an event where it distributed essential commodities among leper patients.

The event – Help Leper Patients – was held at Bahrar Leper Colony Lal Bazar Srinagar, a statement issued by SSS said this afternoon.

On the occasion former J&K Bank Executive President Abdul Hamid Banday, prominent Islamic preacher Dr Shamsul Rahman Shams, renowned pathologist Dr Abdul Ahmad Pukhta and Nazir Ahmad Makhdoomi of Bahar-e-Kashmir were present.

Chairperson SSS Showkat Ahmad Khanyari along with other dignitaries distributed electric kettles, men and women cloth suiting, kitchen ware items, eatables which include milk and biscuits among the inmates of Leper colony.

Showkat Khanyari said on the occasion, “our motive is to provide necessary items to leper patients so that they will perform Eid-ul-Fitr will religious fervour and gaiety.”

“From the last 7 years, our aim has been is to assist leper patients in their day-to-day affairs in both Jammu leper colony and Kashmir leper colony. They are the needy community and need our utmost attention. We feel it’s our responsibility to help leper patients which by the grace of Almighty we will be doing in future as well.”

Speaking on the occasion, Shamsul Rahman Shams said, “the best service to God is to serve Humanity. Moneyed people and intellectual class has to come forward for helping downtrodden members of Muslim community of the valley.”

Lauding SSS, he said, “its role should be an inspiration for all of them to come forward for help for the sake of Allah.”

Former JK Bank Executive Abdul Hamid Banday also expressed his satisfaction over Syndicate’s role and assured people over his personal assistance to leper patients through this social organisation.

“I will personally arrange monthly medicine, hearing machines and cash facilities both at personal level and through other organisations. It’s my and our responsibility as a society to take care of such people,” he said.
