SRINAGAR: One lane of the Sopore Bypass Bridge will remain closed from October 22 to 31 for repairs, following an order issued by the District Magistrate, Baramulla.
The closure will affect the bridge at kilometre 1.954 on the Sopore Bypass Road. The permission was granted following a request from the Officer Commanding, EE (Civil), 56 RCC (GREF), to carry out the repair work.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner and Senior Superintendent of Police, Sopore, have been directed to prepare a traffic management plan in consultation with the concerned departments and stakeholders.
The authorities have also been asked to consult the Sopore Fruit Growers Association to ensure that traffic arrangements account for the movement of fruit-laden vehicles during the ongoing apple season. The Sopore Fruit Mandi handles consignments destined for markets across the country.
