SRINAGAR: Expressing gratitude to the Indian armed forces for delivering justice to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday said that ‘Naya Bharat’, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, is pursuing a path of zero tolerance against terrorism.
Singh said, “The anti-India and terror organisations that attacked the crown of Bharat Mata (Kashmir) and erased the ‘sindoor’ from several families — the Indian armed forces delivered justice to them through Operation Sindoor. The entire country is expressing gratitude to the armed forces.”
He said that Operation Sindoor is not only a military operation but also a symbol of India’s political, social, and strategic will. “This action against terrorism displayed India’s resolve, military strength, and capability. We have demonstrated that any action India takes against terrorism will reach even beyond the border — terrorists and their leaders will not find safety there.”
The Defence Minister added that Indian armed forces launched Operation Sindoor to target terror infrastructure in Pakistan. “We did not target civilians. But Pakistan targeted civilian areas in India and attempted to attack temples, gurdwaras, and churches. With valour and restraint, the Indian armed forces gave a fitting reply by striking other locations inside Pakistan.”
He further said, “We did not stop at military bases near the border — the impact of our operations was felt even in Rawalpindi, where the headquarters of the Pakistani Army is located.”
Referring to past strikes carried out under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, Singh said, “After the Uri incident, the world saw what happens when terrorist attacks are carried out in India — our armed forces entered Pakistan and conducted surgical strikes. After Pulwama, the world witnessed the Balakot airstrike. And now, following the Pahalgam incident, the world is again watching as India carried out multiple strikes inside Pakistan.”
“Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, India has adopted zero tolerance against terrorism. He has made it clear that this is Naya Bharat, and it will take effective action against terrorism on both sides of the border.” (KNO)
