Awami-Itihaad Party Chairman Engineer Rashid Tuesday asked Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to show ‘tainted’ Congress Minister Peerzada Muhammad Sayeed door from the Cabinet as he has lost every right to be a part of the Cabinet.

Clamor is growing for the resignation of senior Congress leader and J&K minister for public enterprise Peerzada Muhommad Sayeed after the crime branch registered a criminal case against his stepson Imam Subhan for passing the class X exam allegedly through fraud and unfair means.

Engineer Rashid told CNS that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has no right to allow Peerzada to continue as a Cabinet Minister. “How can be a ‘tainted’ Minister like Peerzada be a part of the Cabinet which takes major decisions related to State policies and development,” Rashid said.

He said that earlier it were only accusations but the Crime Branch investigation has proved that then Minister for Education abused his position and power. “It is the duty of the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah now to show him door,” he said adding that Peerzada’s stepson is not guilty but it is Peerzada, who is guilty and a criminal case should be registered against him.
