SRINAGAR: At least two persons were killed in a road accident near Betab valley in Pahalgam, reports reaching here said.
Though the exact details are not known, details people posted on internet suggested that a tree fell on a moving car JK01W – 8167.
People moving around recued the people inside. A girl was killed on the spot. She has been identified as Uzma Hamid, a resident of Kandizal, Pampore. She is around 12 years of age.
The people rescued the young man from the car and rushed him to hospital. He was identified as Hilal Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Bemina. He was also badly injured and is presumed to have died in the hospital.
Police said they are gathering details and it will take them some time.
Reports said some other person, at least three, who were also in the car were injured. But there are not many details available right now. All the injjred hjave been rushed to Srinagar for specialised treatment.
