The accused—Parvaiz Ahmad Jothar of Batkote, Pahalgam, and Bashir Ahmad Jothar of Hill Park, Pahalgam—were arrested by the NIA on Sunday in a major breakthrough in the investigation into the attack, which left 26 people, mostly tourists, dead and 16 injured.

According to the NIA, the accused identified the three attackers as Pakistani nationals affiliated with the banned terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).

Both men were produced before Additional District and Sessions Judge Ritesh Kumar Dubey in Jammu, who remanded them to NIA custody till June 27.

Investigations revealed that Parvaiz and Bashir had knowingly provided shelter, food, and logistical support to the three terrorists at a seasonal hut in Hill Park ahead of the attack. The agency said the gunmen had selectively targeted the victims based on religious identity, describing the incident as one of the most brutal terror attacks in recent years.
