Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Talat Parvez Tuesday setup an enquiry committee to investigate the “unfortunate” killing of a youth at Palhalan by the hands of police, official sources said.

The enquiry committee will be headed by Sub District Magistrate Pattan. The enquiry committee has been directed to submit its report at an earliest.

They said that the Deputy Commissioner has been informed that an FIR has already been lodged in this matter and strict action will be taken against the culprits.

Meanwhile the Deputy Commissioner has assured the relatives of the deceased for every possible help and assured them that Cent percent justice will be done in this matter and the culprits behind this “unfortunate” incident will be taken to task.

Pertinently, Farooq Ahmad Bhat was shot dead during a firing incident in Palhalan on Monday. The protesters were demanding return of mortal remains of parliament attack convict Mohammad Afzal Guru on his secon anniversary.
