Former minister and MLA Budgam Agha Syed Ruhulla on Tuesday accused PDP of becoming a recipient of security agency funding for fragmenting the Kashmir mandate. He was taking part in the discussion on Shopian killings.

Agha told the house that PDP was the main political party that colluded with the agencies in fragmenting the politics and the mandate of Kashmir. “You divided the mandate of the people,” Agha said.

He said the PDP is beneficiary of being supportive to two things in its history, one for Pakistan and another for India. The party revived something in 2008 for Pakistan and prior to that in 2002 it worked in Delhi’s interest to create the party and divide the mandate of the people.

The remarks angered PDP lawmakers. Party president Ms Mehbooba Mufti gave a special nickname to Agha which the treasury benches requested chair to be expunged from the records. “You took money from Pakistan for plebiscite movement and then from India to bury the same,” she alleged. Ms Mufti said since the government lacks answers to her queries, they are using this man to divert the attention from the larger issue. “You sold Kashmir for the throne,” she asserted.

But Agha asserted that the PDP colluded with Dehi to fragment the mandate of the people of Kashmir.
