Terming the BJP-PDP coalition government as the “biggest enemy” of the Kashmiri people, Chairperson Hurriyat Conference (g) Syed Ali Geelani Monday said that on the one hand these people want to settle the non-state subjects in the state but on the other hand they are rendering the citizens of this state homeless.

While criticizing the Ms Mehbooba Mufti government, he said, “for remaining in power this party has started a long term process of eliminating of Kashmiri people.”

According to a statement issued to KNS, a delegation of residents of Pandrathen Badamibagh Srinagar today came to Tehreek-e-Hurriyat head office here at Hyderpora and wanted to meet Syed Ali Geelani but the “police present there didn’t allow them to meet him”.

“On hearing about the incident, Geelani directed his personal secretary Peer Saifullah and his deputy Abdul Hameed Magray to meet the delegation who immediately came out of the office and listened to the grievances of the Panderathen people and assured them that he will convey their problems to the Syed Ali Geelani,” the statement said.

“The delegation said that they are living in Panderathen area from last 150 years and today the government is forcing them to leave the area without arranging any alternate place,” the statement added. “They said that on their resistance, the administration used excessive force against us and used teargas shelling and lathi charge to silence we people. Not only this, the SHO of the concerned police station used abusive language and threatened us of dire consequences.”

The statement said that Peer Saifullah assured the gathering that he will convey their concerns to the Geelani and promised them every possible help.

“Geelani was deeply grieved on hearing the issues of the delegation and strongly condemned the government actions,” the statement said.

Geelani said, “the local pro-Indian political parties had always unleashed enormous atrocities upon their own people since 1947. Unfortunately, the narrow minded leaders of one pro-Indian party (NC) established relations with the Indian National Congress in 47 and made the entire nation slave of Indian imperialism and now another pro-Indian party (PDP) are establishing its relations with the fanatic communal forces who want to eliminate the Kashmiris from this region.”

The octogenarian leader said, “we have to stop the wicked designs of the RSS backed PDP government otherwise we will become strangers in our own land.”

Hurriyat Conference (g) Chairperson cautioned that the expulsion of the Panderathen residents will have serious consequences, he, however, said, “if it is so compulsory to evacuate the area then these people should be provided with alternate place and adequate compensation for their rehabilitation.”

Meanwhile, senior Hurriyat Conference (g) leader Haji Gh Nabi Sumji and Insaf Party chief G A Gulzar in a joint statement paid rich tributes to Adil Ahmad Dar of Andergam Pattan and Merajudin Bhat of Brath Sopore who sacrificed their precious lives for a sacred cause.

The leaders said, “our Nation is obliged to such martyrs and the onus is on us to carry it to its logical conclusion.”

They expressed their deep sorrow on the anniversary of the two daughters of the Nation, Asiya and Neloofar who fell victims to barbaric claws of men in uniform, 7yrs ago.
