Training guns on government, opposition Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) legislators have demanded an impartial probe into the ‘drug scam’ by a house committee. They said the probe should be on the same pattern as that of the G.B Pant ‘scam’.

Three senior legislators Syed Basharat Bukhari, Mohammad Rafi Mir, and Syed Mansoor on Tuesday wrote a letter to the speaker of the legislative Assembly Mubarak Gul demanding the constitution of house committee to probe the drug scam that allegedly involves a senior Minister.

“We have written to the assembly Speaker urging him to constitute a house panel that would probe the drug scam.” Senior PDP leader and MLA Sangrama Syed Basharat Bukhari told KNS over phone on Tuesday evening. He added that the infamous ‘drug scam’ has sent shock ways among people across the state particularly in valley and an impartial probe was now inevitable.

Meanwhile sources in the Speaker’s secretariat confirmed to KNS that the letter was received on Monday, but they maintained that no decision on the constitution of the house committee has been taken as yet.
