Despite reports that Ms Mufti would be heading the same team that her father constituted, latest reports from Jammu said the Ms Mehbooba Mufti is likely to drop two ministers, both holding cabinet positions in the last council.
“Yes, two cabinet ministers have been dropped,” a PDP insider said. “You will know when the oath ceremony takes place.”
Insiders said the one head was chopped for “dissident” activities and other’s “performance” cost him his head.
A top leader of PDP said that nobody knew of the names in the cabinet till 8 am today. It was kept a tightly guarded secret by Ms Mufti who is operating from Circuit House on the canel Road.
In the last three months a number of MLAs had ganged up against the decision of the party. They were keen to have a government by the BDP led by other than Ms Mufti, in case she disagreed to take over. All these MLAs were in touch with the central government. Interestingly, PDP was being kept informed by the BJP.
Meanwhile, reports suggest BJP is also dropping at least two ministers. In this party, performance, has been made the main issue for reevaluating its ministers.
