SRINAGAR

Educationist of Chinab Valley, Swami Raj Baghat Monday joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The party patron, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed welcomed Baghat into the party fold at his official Gupkar residence.

Baghat was working as a principal of a local Higher Secondary Institute in Ramban area of the Chinab Valley and has taken a volunteer retirement from the job recently.

Speaking on the occasion Mufti said a new era of peace and prosperity has started in Jammu & Kashmir and the PDP has emerged as genuine voice and viable alternative before the people all across the state. He said by giving a decisive mandate to the party in the just concluded parliamentary elections people have showed an enormous amount of trust and faith in the party’s pro-people policies. “It was only because of the support of people that PDP could write a new chapter in the history of the state which will enable the party to take forward its unfinished agenda of political resolution and good governance,” said Mufti.
