SRINAGAR: A 36-year-old man was killed after being struck by an unidentified vehicle in the Fisheries area of Kokernag in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Sunday, officials said.
The deceased was identified as Tariq Ahmad Kalas, son of Mohammad Shareef Kalas, a resident of Shalnard, Lisser, Kokernag.
According to officials, Kalas suffered critical injuries in the accident and was taken to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Kokernag, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and launched an investigation to establish the circumstances leading to the accident and trace the vehicle involved.
