SRINAGAR: A 61-year-old man died after being hit by a vehicle in the Kokernag area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Saturday, officials said.
Quoting an official news agency GNS reported that the accident took place at Bahie in Hiller Kokernag when a Tavera vehicle bearing registration number JK19-0641 hit a pedestrian identified as Abdul Majeed Bhat, son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, a resident of Dehruna.
He was rushed to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries, the official added.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated further proceedings.
