PDP Convention in Achabal

PDP General Secretary, Rafi Ahmad Mir asked the party workers to remain vigilant against NC and Congress which are hell bent to enervate the party and coalition formation. He appealed workers to work for strengthening the party at grassroots level. Underlining the need for maintaining close coordination between administration and party workers, Mir said this will ensure resolving of maximum public issues within limited timeframe.

Mir said that formation of coalition with BJP was the prudent decision of the Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and in overall benefit of the people of the State. He said taking such decision was the need of the hour and will bear best results in near future. He said for PDP interests of the people of Jammu and Kashmir are supreme.

Rafi said the package submitted by previous NC-Congress Government was not meant for flood affected people but to clear the debt accrued by them. He said Rs 90000 Crore package is expected to be announced by the Prime Minister benefitting every section of the society.

PDP General Secretary said that rejuvenating the party base has become imperative to make it more active and public friendly. He said all of us have a role to expand the ambit of the party so that more people are brought under the party fold.

Rafi Mir was addressing a party convention at Achabal in Shangus Constituency today, party statement said.

Abdul Haq Khan while addressing the convention said that PDP-BJP coalition will prove strongest and long-lasting formation in the State. “If there be a congenial friendship between India and Pakistan, it is possible only in Mufti Mohammad Sayeed-led coalition” he added.

Rural Development Minister said that previous NC-Congress coalition has spoiled the administrative set up in the State, adding set it right is among the priorities of our Government.

Khan said that Panchayati elections are expected to be held in month of April and asked workers to gear up their activities in their respective halqas to ensure that party will get all the seats. He said Rs 2200 Crore have been earmarked under Rural Development sector and assured workers that Shangus constituency will get its due share.

Rural Development Minister announced that a Common Facility Centre (CFC) will be constructed at Rakhibrah costing Rs 50 lakh besides Rs 1.0 Crore for protection and improvement of nallah Aripath.

Syed Altaf Bukhari said that service to people in the mission of PDP. He said this Government is the Govt of people and asked workers to play their role in the development process started by the Government.  He said political interference in previous Omar lead Government has destroyed administrative system in R&B department which is now being set right. He said allotment of contracts without inviting tenders and transfer of engineers had become daily routine which has been stopped immediately after assuming the office by our Government.

R&B Minister said 1600 km road length has been blacktopped in Kashmir Valley during short span of five months of present Government which the previous Government could not achieve in four months during their tenure.

Altaf Bukhari said that e-tendering processing is being eased to allow small contractors to take part in the development process started across the State. He said Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has entrusted him an important tasks of road development which is directly linked with the people. He said this will give me a chance to serve people.

Addressing on the convention, FinMin Dr Haseeb Drabu said that special attention would be given towards those constituencies where PDP MLAs lost the election. He said whatever development has taken place in Shangus constituency it is because of the tireless efforts put by Peer Mansoor while representing the constituency.

Finance Minister said previous Government has engaged 60000 persons without considering its financial implications. He said despite financial hardships, the Government has released Rs 18600 Crore so far. He said this year budget will be presented in January in view of limited working season in most parts of the State. He said this will facilitate the Government to invite tenders during the month of April and start work immediately.
