Department of PHE on Wednesday held a protest demonstration at Press Enclave, in Srinagar against the release of their pending wages.
Scores of the casual labours and ITI workers from PHE department assembled at Press colony shouting anti-governmental and anti-administration slogans demanded the release of their pending wages.
“The authorities have not released our wages since past three months, which has led us to suffer on daily basis,” said a protestor.
The authorities used to pay us 223, per day and our wages were being paid through Non-Resources Wages head which has been given to the Department of Finance now.
“But nobody is listening to our pleas and we are suffering for no reason at all,” said another protestor.
The protestors added that their wages have been released from the finance department but the concerned Chief Engineer Kashmir is delaying it.
