Prime Minister Narendra Modi Saturday lauded people of Jammu and Kashmir for ‘reposing faith in democracy’ by turning out in large numbers during last month’s assembly elections.

Modi was addressing a rally in poll bound New Delhi.

“The state, which at one point of time did not record even two percent votes, saw a 65-70 percent turnout,” he said adding, “It was despite every move by separatist forces to malign India internationally.”
