SRINAGAR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday paid tributes to the soldiers who fought in the Kargil War, saying their extraordinary courage and unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation would forever remain a source of pride and inspiration.
In a message on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, the Prime Minister said the nation was grateful to the brave soldiers for their valour in the face of the most challenging circumstances.
“On Kargil Vijay Diwas, our nation expresses gratitude to the brave soldiers for their extraordinary courage and commitment towards securing India. Their valour in the face of the most formidable conditions will forever remain a source of national pride. Their unwavering patriotism and devotion to duty will continue to inspire generations,” Modi said.

Kargil Vijay Diwas is observed every year on July 26 to commemorate India’s victory in the 1999 Kargil conflict and to honour the soldiers who took part in Operation Vijay.
