Srinagar

Police on Thursday arrested Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chief Mohammad Yasin Malik from his residence to prevent him from leading any protests.

The spokesman said that Malik was arrested from his Maisuma residence on today after Fajr prayers by a police party and lodged him in police station Kothi Bagh.

Earlier, Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and Yasin Malik had called for a protest shutdown today against the civilian killings in Kashmir.
