Police on Friday arrested half a dozen gamblers and recovered three thousand rupees from their possession from Nishat and its adjoining areas. The place was raided on the specific information and after receiving continuous complaints from the locality regarding gambling menace.
Police while confirming the arrests said that such unlawful activities will not be tolerated.
“We were receiving complaints from the localities that some youth are engaged in gambling in Nishat and its adjusting localities. We set up the Police team and on the specific information we raided Botanical garden and some other areas”, said SHO Police Station Nishat, Sunil Kesar (IPS) to local news agency KNS.
He said that these gamblers were actively trying to involve other youth in this unlawful act but the Police is curbing the crime and no one will be allowed to escape from the law.
