SRINAGAR: Police in Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district have attached or frozen immovable properties worth more than Rs 6.22 crore in six cases registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act as part of an intensified crackdown on drug trafficking.
According to a police handout, the latest action was taken by Police Stations Nigeen and Zakura, while properties had earlier been attached or frozen by Police Stations Shalteng, Ahmad Nagar and Lal Bazar.
Police Station Nigeen attached a double-storey residential house and adjoining land valued at around Rs 1.10 crore at Danihama, Hazratbal. The property belongs to Mubashir Ashiq Teeli, son of Ashiq Hussain Teeli, a resident of Saderbal and presently residing at Danihama. The action relates to FIR No. 24/2026 registered under Section 8/21 of the NDPS Act and was carried out under Section 68-F(1) of the Act.
Police Station Zakura separately attached a residential house and land worth Rs 1.14 crore at Mulphaq Abu Baker Colony, Hazratbal, belonging to Zubair Ahmad Rather, son of Mohd Shaban Rather, originally from Lariyal Tral and presently residing at Abu Baker Colony. The property is linked to FIR No. 44/2026 under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act.
Earlier, Police Station Shalteng froze a property valued at Rs 1 crore belonging to Mohd Altaf Dar, son of Ghulam Ahmad Dar, of Mujgund, in connection with FIR No. 76/2025. The property comprises a single-storey house and 11.5 marlas of land.
In another case, FIR No. 87/2025, Shalteng Police froze property worth Rs 43 lakh belonging to Riyaz Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, of Panzinara.
Police Station Ahmad Nagar attached property valued at Rs 2.2 crore belonging to Owais Ahmad Mir, son of Ghulam Hassan Mir, of Baghaat Shoora, in FIR No. 09/2025 registered under Sections 8/21/27-A/29 of the NDPS Act. The action followed confirmation by the Competent Authority, SAFEMA, New Delhi.
Police Station Lal Bazar also attached a double-storey house and 3.5 marlas of land valued at more than Rs 35 lakh belonging to Waseem Ahmad Langoo, son of Farooq Ahmad Langoo, of Lal Bazar, in FIR No. 52/2023.
Police said the attachment and freezing orders prohibit the owners from selling, leasing or transferring the properties or creating any third-party interest in them.
The latest proceedings, police said, are aimed at disrupting the financial assets linked to drug trafficking under the Nasha Mukt JK Abhiyan.
