According to a police statement, the attached properties include a double-storeyed residential house at Nadir Gund, Pir Bagh, Hyderpora, valued at around Rs 70 lakh, belonging to Aqib Farooq, son of Farooq Ahmad, a resident of Nadir Gund, Pir Bagh, Hyderpora. The action was taken in connection with FIR No. 16/2025 registered under Section 8/21 of the NDPS Act.

In a separate case, Police Station Rainawari attached a single-storeyed residential house built on five marlas of land at Inderhama Gassu, Batapora, Hazratbal, worth approximately Rs 65 lakh. The property belongs to Azan Parvaiz Giltsaaz, son of Parvaiz Ahmad Giltsaaz, originally a resident of Kani Mohalla, Rainawari, and presently residing at Inderhama Gassu, Batapora, Hazratbal. The attachment was made in connection with FIR No. 09/2023 registered under Sections 8/21/29 of the NDPS Act.

Police said the investigation established that both properties had allegedly been acquired through proceeds generated from narcotics trafficking and drug peddling. The assets were subsequently attached under the relevant provisions of the NDPS Act, including Section 68-F, subject to confirmation by the competent authority.

Srinagar Police said the action forms part of its continuing strategy to dismantle the financial networks supporting drug trafficking by identifying and confiscating assets allegedly created through the proceeds of crime.

Reaffirming its commitment to a drug-free Jammu and Kashmir, the police appealed to the public to share credible information on drug trafficking and substance abuse, assuring that the identity of informants would be kept strictly confidential.
