Police Conduct Anti-Narcotics Raids at Hotels in Pahalgam

   

SRINAGAR: Police on Friday conducted extensive anti-narcotics raids at several hotels in the Pahalgam sub-division of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district as part of efforts to curb drug-related activities and strengthen surveillance against narcotics networks.

The operation was carried out by six police teams under the supervision of the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Pahalgam. Hotel premises in the Mavoora, Rafting Point and Yanner areas were searched on the basis of credible inputs, officials said.

According to police, the raids were aimed at preventing the misuse of tourist accommodation facilities for narcotics-related activities and enhancing vigilance against drug trafficking networks operating in the region.

The searches formed part of the district police’s ongoing campaign against the drug menace and efforts to maintain public safety in the tourist destination.

Police said anti-narcotics operations would continue across Anantnag district as part of sustained measures to ensure a drug-free environment and curb the spread of narcotics.
