Baramulla police arrested the treasurer of St. Joseph Hr. Secondary School Baramulla, Javid Ahmad Wani, resident of Delina for fraudulently withdrawing 42 lakhs from CP Fund of the employees of the school. The Charge sheet was filed against the accused.
Background

On July 7, 2012, principal St. Joseph higher secondary school Baramulla lodged a complaint alleging therein that while scrutinizing the books of accounts pertaining to C.P Fund of staff members of institute huge discrepancies were observed.
Preliminary investigations revealed that there has been a huge withdrawal and transfer of the money from the individual CP Fund accounts of a number of school employees without their consent and knowledge.

A case FIR No: 139/2012 under section 420, 467, 468, 471, 406 RPC was registered and investigation was initiated. A special investigation team was constituted under the supervision of DySP Hqr Baramulla. Special Investigating team seized documents, withdrawal forms, paying-in-slips from bank.

During the investigation, police found that the CP Fund was withdrawn by Javid, by forging the signatures of the principal and staff members.
