The Jammu and Kashmir Police have set up Sahulat through which it have set up Iftaar Points and distribute Iftiari to people to break fasts.

“As a part of its campaign to serve people and strengthen ties, the Jammu and Kashmir Police initiated a novel programme this Ramzan in Srinagar,” a police official said.

The Iftari presented in beautifully designed packs include a water bottle, dates, fruit and a sweet dish, the statement said.

“There are no fixed points. The police team rather identifies spots by itself according to the need and requirement. However, city hospitals like SMHS, SIKMS (Soura), SKIMS (Bemina) and Lal Ded have been of special attention,” an official said. “One or the other hospital is covered every evening.”

Apart from Iftar Kits, Dinner packs are also distributed in hospital wards among attendants and patients, he added.

Police Control Room Srinagar makes the preparation and distribution of the Iftar kits under the directions of IGP Kashmir Syed J M Gillani.

Besides Divisional Administration has setup a Special Ramzan Helpline at Police Control Room Kashmir. The helpline deals with the grievances put across by the citizens with regard to electricity, water, sanitation, health and other issues of emergency. Apart from police, representatives from different departments remain present and resolve issues of the people by forwarding the grievances to their respective departments, the statement added.
