With the order regarding the cabinet decision of replacing the CRPF by JKAP at Gagran camp yet to reach to the district authorities in Shopian, police and civil administration in the district began preparations for the implementation of the order. Authorities held rounds of meetings on Friday to identify the place where the CRPF personnel of the Gagran camp could be shifted.

Reliable sources in the administration told a local news agency, KNS that it was likely that CRPF personnel would be shifted to the police lines, however the process may take a couple of days, as the administration was still waiting for the formal orders. “We have not received the orders as of now, but  we have already began the preparations for the shifting of the personnel,” a senior officer in the district administration wishing anonymity told KNS, adding that the Police Lines was being considered for the relocation of the CRPF personnel.

Meanwhile highly placed Police sources told KNS that all the non-state laborers in the Shopian district were on Friday summoned by Police to identify the photograph of the fourth one killed in police firing whose identity was yet to be ascertained. The police according to sources was trying to establish the identity of the man whom CRPF has been maintaining was a militant. Sources however revealed to KNS that none of the non-state labourers identified the slain person. A senior Police officer however told KNS that the non local killed in the firing was a militant but the identification was part of a process to ensure transparency.
