SRINAGAR: Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) and Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL) have announced scheduled power shutdowns in parts of Srinagar and Jammu on Saturday, May 3, to carry out essential maintenance works.
According to the Chief Engineer of KPDCL, power supply from the Badampora–Kurhama Dab 33 kV line will remain affected from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm due to pole erection, cable stringing, and distribution transformer earthing. The shutdown will impact receiving stations at Kurhama, Dab, GCET, and Sainik School. Areas expected to be affected include Kurhama, Youngoora, Baroosa, Old Dab, Checki Baba, Sainik School, Rabitar, Kondbal, GCET, Safapora, and adjoining localities.
Meanwhile, the Superintending Engineer of O&M Circle-III, JPDCL, Batote, informed that electricity supply to Charri, Swail, Kawa, Vishal and surrounding areas in Jammu will remain suspended from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm to facilitate system improvement works.
