Power Shutdowns Announced in Multiple Areas of Jammu Kashmir

   

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns across various areas of Jammu and Kashmir between July 24 and July 27, 2025, to facilitate line augmentation, tree branch cutting, and urgent repair work.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, the 33KV Budgam Watrehail Tap line will be shut down to carry out augmentation works on the Budgam Parthan line. Consequently, the 33/11KV Receiving Station at Watrehail will remain non-functional, affecting power supply to Watrehail, Samsaan, Parthan, Watrehail PHE Substation and adjoining areas from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM on July 24 and 26.

Similarly, branch cutting work along the alignment of the 33KV Alasteng Power House line will necessitate power shutdowns affecting Receiving Stations at Zirpora Power House, Manigam, Duderhama and the Contingency Plant. Areas including Beehama, Arampora, Arch, Nunner, Manigam, Duderhama, Malshaibagh, Wayil, and Gutlibagh will face outages from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM on July 27.

In a related development, the Alasteng Nagbal line will also be shut down for tree clearance, disrupting power to the Receiving Stations at Alasteng, Nagbal, Gadoora and Tulbagh. This will impact supply to Shuhama, Bakura, Darend, Nagbal, Fatehpora, Gadoora, Tulbagh, Chunduna, Shairpathri and surrounding areas from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM on July 26.

Further shutdowns are planned for the Alasteng Zakura line, with power cuts affecting Gulab Bagh, Ahmad Nagar and Umarhair Receiving Stations. Areas like Pandach, Pathan Colony, Mir Mohalla, Nowbugh, 90 ft Road and Khalmulla will experience outages from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM on July 26.

Meanwhile, in Gurez, to carry out stabilisation and critical repairs on the 33KV Potushai Gurez line, Receiving Stations at Dawar and Gurez will be shut down, leading to power cuts in Dawar, Wanpora, Tragbal, and NHPC from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on July 24.

Additionally, the shutdown of the Potushai Naidhal line will affect Receiving Stations at Nusoo, Naidhal and Ajas, impacting electricity supply to Nursoo, Garoora, Papchan, Nishat, Argam and surrounding regions from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM on July 26.
