The victims were identified as Abeer Anan, 29, who was pregnant, her husband Abdullah Abu Taif, 33, and their five-year-old son, Azzam. They were inside an apartment in the Al-Sousi Tower in the Mina area of western Gaza City when the strike occurred.

The apartment was destroyed in the attack, and residents and rescue workers searching through the debris later recovered the body of the unborn baby from the ruins.

The strike was reportedly carried out by an Israeli drone and caused extensive structural damage to the residential building near Gaza City’s western port area.

Palestinian media reports said the attack was part of a series of overnight Israeli bombardments across the Gaza Strip in which at least 13 Palestinians were killed.

The strike occurred despite local reports of a recently announced agreement intended to implement the next phase of a ceasefire plan. Israel had not officially commented on those reports at the time of filing this report.

The Israeli military also did not immediately issue a statement on the strike or the reported casualties.

The conflict in Gaza has resulted in widespread destruction and heavy civilian casualties, with international organisations continuing to express concern over the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the enclave.
