Prof Sahaf is KU’s New Registrar

Former Director of The Business School, Kashmir University (KU), Prof Musadiq A Sahaf has been appointed as the new Registrar KU.

Prof Sahaf succeeded Prof Zafar Reshi from Botany Department, who has been relieved from the additional charge.

“At his own request, Dr Zafar Ahmad, Professor, Department of Botany is relieved from the additional duties as Registrar from 23.06.2015. Consequent upon the above, Prof Musadiq Amin Sahaf, Professor in The Business School shall function as Registrar till further orders,” read an Order dated 24.06.2015.

Known for his impeccable integrity and administrative abilities, Prof Sahaf has served the University in various capacities including Director, The Business School; Dean, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, and Director, Centre for Career Planning and Counselling. He has 30 years teaching experience and has been rated as dedicated and excellent teacher in various surveys.

Prof Sahaf has done his MCom in 1981, MPhil (1982) and PhD in Marketing (1985) from the University of Kashmir and is the author of several books and papers published in local, national and international journals.

Credited for being instrumental in launching five-year Integrated MBA Programme from 2008 and also getting Masters in Travel and Hospitality Management approved, he has been a member of University’s key decision-making bodies including the University Council, Academic Council and Syndicate.

Prof Sahaf is a member of many bodies including All India Management Association, Indian Administrative Management, Indian Society of Agricultural Marketing, Indian Marketing Association and Indian Institute of Public Administration.

Prof Sahaf’s appointment as Registrar has been widely hailed by University teachers, officers and employees.
