Scores of aspirants Saturday staged a massive protest out-side State Service Recruitment Board (SSRB) in Parreypora Barzaulla in Srinagar alleging that the Board has shortlisted blue-eyed candidates for interview for different posts.
Protesters told CNS that SSRB had published an advertisement notice in March 2013 for the posts of Assistant Handicraft Officer, Accountant Assistant, and Store-Keeper. The screening test for such posts was conducted in September 2013. The protesters alleged those who were dropped in Screen Test have not been given any reason or justification for their disqualification thought all of them are highly qualified.
The aspirants staged a protest out SSRB and alleged that Board has mentioned only the names of those candidates on its website who have not been short-listed for the interview. “We want to know about our points that we secured in the Screening Test. What was the cut off and on what basis the aspirants were selected,” one of the protestor told CNS.
The protestors said the kingpin in BOPEE scam, Mushtaq Ahmed Peer was the consultant of the committee which shortlisted the candidates for the interview and there is a reason to believe that Screening Test was not fair. “It is irony that Board officials decline to provide us results as we have right to know on what basis we were dropped,” another protestor said.
No SSRB official was ready to comment on the matter.
