Putting speculations about his retirement from active politics to rest, senior Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) leader and MLA Pattan, Molvi Iftikhar Hussian Ansari Saturday confirmed his participation in forthcoming polls in the state and his priority, he said, will be to ‘expose the sadistic  policies of National Conference at large’.

Ansari Saturday returned to valley from USA after undergoing a surgery in November 2013 for his pulmonary ailment.

Talking to KNS, Ansari said: “My top most priority will be that the people of the state must not be lured by the hollow slogans of NC and that the fact is known to all that the party (NC) has bartered all the interests of the state at large.”

He added further that he will himself contest the forthcoming polls and the news about his retirement from politics is a rumor, floated by his rivals. “I will (InshaAlaah) be an active player and a solider against NC and its anti-people policies.”

The PDP senior vice president further stated that he is meeting PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and that the future strategy will be discussed threadbare in his meet. “I believe that the people of the state are mature enough at this time and that I am sure they will not be swayed away by NC’s feigned approach.”

Several PDP leaders, including its patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and president Mehbooba Mufti telephoned Ansari inquiring about his health.
