Another army soldier succumbed to injuries after he was injured in a militant attack on army convoy near toll post Lower Munda on Srinagar-Jammu highway near Qazigund, taking the death toll to two. Four other army men are also injured in the attack.
Militants fired upon army convoy moving on Srinagar-Jammu highway near Lower Munda Qazgiund, police officials said. Six soldiers had received injuries and were referred to emergency hospital Qazigund.
Among the inured two soldiers have succumbed and others have been referred to Army’s Srinagar base hospital.
However, army spokesperson didn’t respond to the repeated calls from Kashmir Life.
Meanwhile, following the attack forces have cordoned off whole area and search operation has been launched to nab the attackers.
Highway was shut for traffic movement and unprecedented security arrangements have been put in place.
