Rabid Dogs Bite Seven In Kotranka, Schools In 8 Panchayats To Remain Closed

   

SRINAGAR: Authorities have ordered the closure of schools in eight panchayats of Kotranka in Rajouri district on Monday after stray dogs suspected of being rabid reportedly bit seven people and other dogs in the area.

According to an order issued by the Zonal Education Planning Officer, Kotranka, some rabid/stray dogs have been roaming in the area and have bitten seven persons and other dogs.

In view of the safety and well-being of students, the authorities have directed all heads of institutions and teachers of schools falling under Jaglanoo, Mohra-A, Mohra-B, Hubbi, Larkooti, Kandi Upper, Kandi Lower and Khadyoon panchayats to inform parents and guardians that students will not attend school on August 10 and will remain at home.

The order also directed all concerned to ensure strict compliance with the instructions and take all necessary precautionary measures for the safety and security of students.

The development comes amid concerns over the movement of stray dogs in the area following the reported attacks.(
