According to statement issued by Prof Saif-ul-din Soz, the president PCC J&K, the memorandum submitted by the Bari Brahamana Industries Association Jammu to Rahul Gandhi,  Vice President INC on November 7, 2013, has received  focused  attention of Rahul Gandhi through the Ambika Soni MP, General Secretary AICC and I/C J&K State.

The statement said that a high level meeting was held the other day in Delhi with P Chidambaram, union Finance Minister. Those who attended the meeting included Ahmad Patel, MP & Advisor to Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Ambika Soni MP, General Secretary AICC and Prof Saifuddin Soz, MP President J&K PCC.

“It was explained to the Finance Minister that the Notification NO. 01/2010-CE dated Feburuary 6, 2010 be implemented in such a manner so that the existing Industrial Units, who have undertaken substantial expansion programmes under the Notification No-56/2002 and 57  of 2002,” the statement said adding “It was also explained in detail to the Finance Minister that the Notification No. 01/2010 CE dated  Feburuary 6, 2010 is  new and independent notification and it has not debarred the existing industrial units, who have taken substantial  enterprises  in had under notification NO 56 of 2002 and 57 of 2002.”

Soz said that the Finance Minister was earnestly requested to ask the Authorities to make this clear to Commissioner Central Excise, Jammu.

According to the statement issued by Soz, the Finance Minister responded very favourably to the plea made and asked the Officer concerned to discuss the matter with him on priority and explain the position for redressal of the grievances.

The delegation explained further that the clarification sought will go a long way to promote Industrial growth in Jammu and Kashmir State.

“My assessment is that as and when the clarification is issued by the  Finance Ministry, it will cover the  entire J&K State,” Soz said.
