Pradesh Congress Committee  state chief, Prof. Saif ud din Soz on Monday expressed disappointment over the sluggish pace of rail development in the state.

“The rail development in Jammu And Kashmir state is extremely sluggish. The construction of railway line between Udhampur and Qazigund (Kashmir) is not keeping pace with the commitment made by the ministry of railways for its completion”, said Soz while speaking in the Rajya Sabha on Monday.

“Within Jammu province the railway line has not moved to Poonch / Rajouri and Doda. The Survey in respect of line between Jammu and Rajouri – Poonch was faulty and not development has taken place.  In respect of fact that there is heavy traffic of civilian & military movement, the Railway Ministry is dragging its feet and not undertaking the works”, he added.

He said that in Kashmir, the railway line has not moved to Uri and Kupwara. “The Ministry has to take urgent measures in this direction”, he added
