Chairman Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Geelani Friday claimed that Indian authorities were following a long-term project to change demographic status of state and termed proposed regularization of 20 migrant colonies in Jammu a deep rooted conspiracy of state administration.

In a statement to KNS Geelani said, “India as a part of its strategy desires to change population structure and take over Kashmir on permanent basisand for this purpose non-state subjects residents are being provided lodgings. National Conference, PDP, Congress and other pro-Indian political parties follow dictates of Delhi,” he said.

“Congress Minister Raman Balla has been assigned the special job in this regard and  at times he even surpasses the state administration. Till 1947 ratio of Muslim population in Jammu was 85 percent and since the occupation of the state different methods were being applied  to decrease this ratio and not only millions of Muslims were brutally massacred and equal number were forced to migrate to Pakistan and now the non state subjects are being allowed to permanently settle there,” Geelani claimed.

The Hurriyat (G) chairman while castigating local political and ruling parties said that “they for the lust of power instead of showing any resistance extended their full support to Delhi.”

“From Sheikh Abdullah to Raman Balla, all caused an irreparable damage to collective cause of state of Jammu and Kashmir,” he alleged.

Referring to the history, Geelani said though people of the state provided full moral support to plebiscite front of Sheikh Abdullah “while approving the Land Grants Bill he stabbed the people in the back and paved way and provided provision to grab state land by non state subjects.”

Geelani claimed that pro-India politicians were providing support to Indian authorities to exploit state resources and also are trying to provide citizenship to non state subjects. While commenting over the active role being played by State Congress and Raman Balla, he said, “Omar Abdullah do provide his favors to Delhi for their plans.” “It were Raman Balla and Tara Chand who for said purpose had issued Dogra Certificate orders and also Tara chand had proposed for legislation of property rights to people living in slums,” he claimed.

While criticizing pro Indian political parties including state Congress and National Conference, Geelani claimed that these politicians instead to protect interests of state, are rather engaged in efforts to increase their vote bank and same sprit works behind the proposed regularization of these 20 unauthorized colonies.
