RampWorks Aviation Private Limited is the brainchild of Siddharth Verma, a pioneer in seaplane operations with 32 years of unmatched experience.

The company is set to make its mark on the Indian market by launching four training centres in Jammu and Kashmir, the North-East, Himachal Pradesh, and Nagpur in Maharashtra. Initially, RampWorks Aviation Private Limited will start its flagship centre in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, next month in February.

The company has designed a specialised, intensive 90-day full-time training programme for three courses: ground handling for seaplane and airport operations, cabin crew, and hospitality.

Upon completing the 90-day training, students will undergo a 30-day on-the-job training programme. Each course will accommodate 25 students, including both men and women, and will be taught by international instructors with extensive experience in amphibious and wheeled aircraft.

What sets RampWorks Aviation Private Limited apart from its competitors in the aviation industry is its fully residential training programme, which offers classroom and on-the-job training. Additionally, the company guarantees 100 per cent placement for its graduates with top industry salaries immediately upon completing the training.

It is also India’s first composite training programme for ground staff in seaplane and airport operations, coupled with a world-class cabin crew training programme. In the second phase, scheduled for Q3 2025, RampWorks plans to launch India’s first seaplane pilot training school (Approved Training Organisation) in Kashmir. In the third phase, a comprehensive pilot training school (Flying Training Programme) is envisioned by the company.

“Kashmir offers fantastic conditions for starting seaplane operations. We have already reserved 20 per cent of seats in each course for Kashmiri students who aspire to aim for the skies,” said Verma.

He added that the Government of India has identified 79 water bodies for seaplanes under the ongoing RCS-UDAN Round 5.5 of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, paving the way for the induction of 50-100 seaplanes across India starting mid-2025.

“For example, if 200 destinations (airports to waterdromes) are established for connection by this projected fleet of seaplanes, it will require at least 2,000 trained personnel to manage operations at these locations. With no seaplane-trained staff available as of now, RampWorks has taken the lead in addressing this enormous demand for qualified crew and has positioned itself as the company of choice for aspiring students seeking to learn the intricacies of seaplane operations. These graduates will become some of the most sought-after ground personnel in India in the coming months,” Verma added.

Nehal Vyas, CEO of RampWorks, stated that “the training provided by top industry professionals, alongside the intense attention to detail in the programme, will ensure that students are ‘industry ready’ and capable of delivering from day one. With the flagship centre operational in Srinagar, Kashmir will set the stage for the creation of a robust seaplane ecosystem across India.”

The launch of RampWorks’ flagship centre in Kashmir, known as the “Paradise on Earth” for its stunning landscapes, mighty peaks, and crystal-clear water bodies, is anticipated to attract more industrialists and investors to the Valley, boosting the economy and providing numerous employment opportunities for the youth.

The company plans to train 300 students annually at each centre and will conduct a roadshow to introduce its courses to prospective students. Training is set to begin in February 2025.

RampWorks will kick off its campaign with a roadshow in Dehradun on 6 January to reach aspiring youth interested in a career in aviation. This will be followed by walk-in interviews for applicants at Hotel Sterling Marbella in the city. (KNO)
