As the pandemonium ensued in the 5th day of on-going Autumn session of JK Legislature, the opposition staged walkout in protest.

Led by opposition leader, Omar Abdullah, the opposition was left miffed over the government response over Er Rashid’s thrashing. Though Mufti was quick to condemn the act, but his deputy somehow justified the act saying “what about our sentiments”. Dr Nirmal Singh, the BJP man and state’s deputy chief minister was voicing his rage over Er Rashid beef party which MLA Langate held MLA hostel yesterday evening.

The BJP MLAs vented out their rage well before the house met for the 5th day. It started when a BJP MLA, Ravinder Raina, kicked Rashid before striking him with punches and jabs. In the ensued scuffle, Rashid hit back but was overpowered by BJP men.

Later, the timely intervention of Congress and NC broke off the scuffle. But not before, the house was gripped with pandemonium.

This attack prompted the opposition leader, Omar Abdullah, to stage walk out.
