Employees’ Joint Action Committee (EJAC) president and JCC leader Abdul Qayoom Wani Friday urged the government to regularize temporary employees and daily wagers, and release 6 % DA in favour of employees and pensioners.

The leader also appealed the government to revoke ban on the private tuition.

While criticizing the Government for not resolving the pending issues of the employees Wani told KNS over phone that exploitation of daily wagers and casual labours was an act of sheer human rights violation and violation of Labour Laws. “Government should formulate a strategy on war footing to get the long pending demands solved at an earliest,” he said.

He said that the issue of regularization of casual and daily wagers is having a top priority in EJAC’s chatter of demands and EJAC will never hesitate to go for State wide agitation for solving the long pending issue, if not solved at an earliest. “The government always appears non-serious with regard to regularization of temporary employees which has forced hundreds of them to go for hunger strike and their health condition is worsening day by day. I appeal the Chief Minister, the Finance Minister to resolve this serious and human issue by formulating and implementing a comprehensive policy,” he demanded.

Wani also asked government to release 6 % DA in favour of the employees.

Wani also appealed government to revoke the ban on private tuition. “Extra coaching is necessity to sharpen skills of the students. Students belonging to far off areas, where private coaching centers are not available, the extra coaching by highly qualified and experienced Government teachers are in the interest of students so that they may compete at local and national level,” Wani said.
