Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Sunday said that imposing restrictions on the political, religious and social activities of religious and political leaders was an unsuccessful attempt of the authorities to break the will of people and leadership from pursuing the peaceful struggle.

Addressing a gathering at Majid-e-Syed Mohammad Syed Barkhurdana  Safa Kadal, he said such aggressive steps have caused more harm to the already worsened situation in Kashmir.

Mirwaiz said Kashmir solution was pre-requisite for peace to return to Kashmir. He said the pending Kashmir issue would remain a looming threat for peace in the state and in the entire south Asian region.

He said the result-oriented dialogue between the main stake holders of the issue, India, Pakistan, and Kashmiris has become inevitable for the resolving the Kashmir issue. If not resolved, the issue would continue to worsen the political situation in the region.
