Srinagar

Authorities on Saturday imposed restrictions in Srinagar parts to prevent separatist-called shutdown and protests against the shifting of Dukhtaran-e-Millat chief Asiya Andrabi along with her two associates Fahmeeda Sofi and Nahida Nasreen to Delhi by National Investigation Agency (NIA).

Officials said that restrictions have been imposed in the Downtown areas of Srinagar to prevent any protests and to avoid any law and order problem.

Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) headed by Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umer Farooq, and Mohammad Yasin Malik, made a fervent appeal to people to observe complete shutdown and maintain civil curfew on 7 July 2018 against the shifting of Asiya Andrabi and her associates to Delhi by NIA.

“Asiya is suffering from many ailments but puppet rulers undemocratically shifted her to Delhi against fake allegations and kept her incarcerated for raising voice for suppressed people,” it said.

“The incarceration, intimidations and leveling fake allegations against leadership particularly DeM is unacceptable and outcome of vengeance,” the leaders said.
