Government on Saturday imposed restrictions in parts of Srinagar city in the wake of a protest shutdown call given by resistance leadership against the killing of Hurriyat leader and shifting of prisoners.
“Restrictions have been imposed in Nowhatta, M.R. Gunj, Rainawari, Khanyar, Safa Kadal, Maisuma and Kralkhud areas,” officials said.
Shops, public transport and educational institutions remained closed in most parts of Srinagar city.
Train services between Banihal town and Baramulla in the Valley were also suspended for the day.
