Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Wednesday underlined the need for carrying forward the gigantic and comprehensive development plan launched in the State by his government to achieve the desired results of inclusive and holistic development.

Omar Abdullah said that the special focus given to reach out every area and ensure development in all the sectors is now amply visible on ground. “We have to achieve the targets in full and realize the promises made to people”, he said and gave directions to the Administrative Secretaries to monitor the development programmes scheme-wise ensuring their time line completion and benefits to people in general.

A statement from the government spokesman claimed that scores of big ticket projects and hundreds of development schemes launched in the State during the last about five years by the government led by Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah have either been completed, implemented or are in the final stages of implementation across the State.

The statement added that the Chief Minister at a high level meeting in Jammu today got detailed account of mega projects under execution in Jammu city and around.

The Chief Minister received brief on modernization of Ranbir Canal, Auto mechanical operated gated barrage across Tawi river, Extension of Ravi Canal, Seed Multiplication Farm Chakoori, Super specialty Hospital Jammu, New 200-bedded maternity hospital Jammu, Convention centre Jammu.

The Chief Minister also reviewed comprehensive sewerage scheme for Jammu city, 27 MLD sewerage treatment plant, laying of lateral sever lines, sewerage projects for various areas of Jammu, modernization of bus stand, industrial complexes at Bari Brahamana, Samba and Gangyal, Sidhra Golf Course, development of river Tawi front, conservation of Mubarak Mandi, improvement of Rughnath Bazar, Mubarak Mandi Cable Car project, disaster recovery centre, implementation of R-APDRP Part-B in Jammu, distribution of transformers metering, 4th Tawi Bridge, Satwari-Kunjwani road Phase-II, construction of Bikram Chowk Flyover, new Legislative Complex, upgradation of Jammu Airport and other developmental works.

The Chief Minister reviewed some 25 projects in 11 departments and gave directions for enhancing the pace of work so that these are completed as per schedule.
