Joint Director Tourism Kashmir, Tasaduq Hussain Tuesday flagged off River Cruise from Peerzoo Island to showcase rich cultural heritage of Srinagar city and provide additional tourist products to the visitors.

This initiative was taken by the department on the instructions of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, an official statement said this evening.

The River Cruise will operate daily from Peerzoo Island from 10 AM to 5 PM with the charging Rs 300 per head.

“It will take visitors to historical places of Srinagar city like LD memorial, Shergari, Khanqah Moula and Hazrat Bulbul Shah Rehmat-a-Ullah,” the statement said.

The historical importance of these heritage sites will be provided to the tourists by guides deputed by the tourism department at these places.

During the ride Zafrani Kashmiri Kahwa will also served to the visitors, the statement added.

General Manager JKTDC, Officers of Flood and Irrigation Control Department, President of ATOAK, President UTAA, Chairman PILTO and President Heritage Tour Operators were present on the occasion.
