Russian President Putin Touches Down in Delhi, Greeted by PM Modi

   

SRINAGAR: Russian President Vladimir Putin landed in New Delhi on Thursday evening, where he was welcomed by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, marking his first visit to India in nearly four years.

Putin is accompanied by senior ministers and a large Russian business delegation on the two-day trip, as both nations aim to broaden economic ties beyond energy and defence sectors.

Officials note the visit underscores the enduring India-Russia relationship and will feature discussions on trade, investment, and strategic cooperation, amid global attention on Russia’s international posture.

The Russian delegation is set to meet with Indian ministers and business leaders, reflecting both countries’ intent to deepen bilateral engagement and explore new avenues for economic and strategic collaboration.
