SRINAGAR: Sameera Fazili, whom Joe Biden picked for a key position in his team, was part of the protests in the USA against the abrogation of Article 370, media reports said. She had a “track record of playing a role in anti-India protests in USA.”

The Economic Times reported that Fazili “played a key role in one of the protests within four days of abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019”. It accused the Biden team member of being a supporter of “Stand with Kashmir”, a Kashmiri diaspora-led international solidarity movement.

“We urge people of conscience to come out and show support and solidarity for the people of Kashmir as authoritarianism and Islamophobia rise around the world, from India to the United States to Europe,” the newspaper quoted Fazili saying. “Come show your support for human rights, international law, and democracy.”

Biden presidency is taking over in the US replacing the Donald Trump regime that has divided the US deeply. Fazili is one of the two Kashmiri women who were selected by the Biden team to serve the administration in the world’s most powerful secretariat. Neither of the two, however, will have any say in US foreign policy.
