Sarah Elizabeth, a 25 year old British woman, was allegedly murdered inside her room in the ‘New Beauty House Boat’ in Dal Lake in the wee hours of Saturday. Kashmir Life’s Photo Editor Bilal Bahadur was among the first few to reach the spot and captures what happened after:

Panic gripped the entire locality of houseboat owners as the news of murder spread in the area. Most of foreign tourists stay in the houseboats on Dal Lake in Srinagar city.
