Scheduled Power Shutdowns Announced Across Jammu Kashmir

   

SRINAGAR: The Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL) and Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) have announced scheduled power shutdowns in various areas of Jammu and Srinagar on different dates in May to facilitate maintenance and infrastructure works.

According to the Superintending Engineer of the JPDCL, O&M Circle Kathua, electricity supply to Gurah, Vijaypur, and adjoining areas will remain affected on May 4 from 7 am to 1 pm. Similarly, power supply to PHE Barjani, K4 Industry, and nearby areas will also remain suspended during the same period.

Additionally, the PHE and Industrial areas will experience power outages on 4 May from 8 am to 5 pm. Further shutdowns in these areas are planned for 5 and 10 May from 7 am to 10 am and again from 5 pm to 8:30 pm.

Meanwhile, residents of Hatlimorh, Sawanchak, Shastri Nagar, Nag Nagar, Tara Nagar, Patel Nagar, Kalibari, Tangri, Police Line, and surrounding areas will face a power cut on 4 May from 7 am to 12 noon.

In the Kashmir division, the Chief Engineer of KPDCL stated that in connection with conductor stringing work under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), shutdown of the 33KV BK Pora–Khanda Tap line will take place. As a result, the 33/11KV Receiving Station at Khanda will remain shut, affecting power supply to Chattergam, Magrapora, Suthsoo, Gowherpora, and adjoining areas on 8 and 12 May from 10 am to 5 pm.
